The surface of the summer tires are smoother than winter tires and their mixture is made of such materials which defend them from higher temperature. So it is worth to use summer tires when the temperature is over 7 degrees.

There are two different tire structures.
At diagonal tires the cord lines stand in 45 degrees with the basis line.
At the radial tires the body can be optimized for radial forces. The radial cords are in 90 degrees with basis line, so cords can take twice bigger forces than diagonal tires. Thus, radial tires have half number of ply than in diagonal tires. This way, the sidewall can be slimmer, which gives better cooling. The decrease of the plies' degrees increases the stability of tire at high speed.
The signs of tire structure: R means radial tire. This sign (-) or D letter means diagonal tire, B means bias belted.

Reglementarea CE/1222/2009 prevede ca toate anvelopele pentru masini proprietate personala si camionete fabricate dupa 1 iulie 2012 si comercializate in UE incepand cu luna noiembrie a anului 2012 sa aiba lipita o eticheta autocolanta sau sa fie insotite de o eticheta in format tiparit, afisata intr-un loc vizibil in cadrul punctului de vanzare. Prima intrebare care se pune e fara indoiala daca intradevar e necesara schimbarea anvelopelor deja existente? In cumpanirea raspunsului e bine de stiut ca pe langa faptul ca profilele anvelopelor de iarna si de vara sunt diferite, mai difera si calitatea cauciucului utilizat. Anvelopele de iarna sunt fabricate dintr-un cauciuc mai moale. Astfel, in cazul rularii in timpul caldurii de vara, acestea se inmoaie mai usor crescand considerabil uzura anvelopelor, scazand in acelasi timp aderenta pe carosabil a autovehiculului. Anvelopele de vara sunt fabricate dintr-un cauciuc mai dur. Astfel, in cazul utilizarii ale acestora pe timp de iarna acestea devin mai rigide, scazand aderenta pe suprafata carosabila.
Standardul european de inscriptionare a anvelopelor Conform dispozitiilor Parlamentului European si al Consiliului European nr. 1222/2009 toate anvelopele* produse in UE dupa data de iunie 2012, sau comercializate dupa noiembrie 2012 vor trebui sa dispuna de o inscriptionare accesibila in spatiul comercial sau pe anvelopa propriu zisa. Gasiti alaturat modelul inscriptionarii. Acesta seamana foarte mult cu cel utilizat la aparatele de utilizare casnica.
